Celebrate Craft in Uganda
Uganda is a country of rich soil, rolling hills, and abundant lakes—home to the source of the Nile and some of Africa’s most vibrant biodiversity. In its rural heartlands, basket weaving is both a practical craft and a form of cultural expression. Women gather under open skies, coiling grasses into striking, sunburst designs that reflect both heritage and ingenuity. Each basket carries with it the strength of its maker—and the quiet beauty of a craft that has stood the test of time.
When We Arrived
Since 2007, we’ve worked side-by-side with communities in Uganda—drawn by the precision of local weavers and the hurdles they faced in securing fair, consistent income. We met women committed to their craft and determined to support their families through it. By committing to long-term partnerships and paying 2.5x Prosperity Wages, we’ve helped artisans turn their work into meaningful progress. Every basket is a reflection of that strength and a lasting piece of tradition, woven with care.
