Meet Agoore Azeko
Meet Agoore Azeko.
With the Prosperity Wages earned from Ten by Three, Agoore is now able to provide food for her family and send her children to school.
Because The Blessing Basket Project’s Prosperity Wages model ensures that artisans are paid at least 2.5 times fair trade value for their baskets, Agoore is not only able to pay for what we consider basic necessities, but she is also able to invest in a sustainable future. With her Prosperity Wages, Agoore invested in livestock and created a firewood and charcoal business (she also helped her son start a business!).
It is with her businesses that her life has truly changed, because she can now provide for her family and live in comfort. With the income she earns from her businesses, Agoore was able to build a cement house and purchase school supplies for her children.
It is The Blessing Basket Project’s goal that Agoore will one day Graduate from Poverty. This means that Agoore will become completely self-sustainable with the income she earns from the businesses she’s created, and will no longer need to weave baskets for a living. Agoore is well on her way.
